These Duck feather and down duvets from Simply Bedding are 70% Duck feather and 30% small Duck down. With an outer fabric of 100% combed cotton cambric with 233 TC (stitches per square inch) and a tog rating of 13.5.

Down are the clusters found on the underside of a duck. The clusters are soft, fine strands which stem from a central point and as they interlock they trap air, it is this air which keeps you warm. They are also extremely light allowing more filling whilst keeping the soft airy feel to the Duck Feather and Down Duvets. The higher the percentage of down within a duvet, the higher the quality and the greater the warmth. Through extensive research we have found that the 70% Duck feather and 30% small white Duck down allows for good heat retention, whilst allowing your body to breath through air movement

The cotton cambric outer allows the body's moisture to pass through the duck feather and down and avoids the hot & sticky feeling associated with synthetic products. The pocketed/boxed construction of the duvet ensures the down filling remains evenly distributed throughout the life of the duvet.

Washing Instructions:

We recommend that all Down and Feather products should be dry cleaned only. If cleaned in a washing machine, Down and feathers will curl into balls when dried. Over time they will loose much of their effectiveness. This is the same for all natural products, don't be fooled by claims that natural feathers can be machine washable when they have been treated with chemicals to keep them straight when wet/washed. The delicate nature of down means it should be dry cleaned, even when treated, to ensure it keeps its fluffiness and therefore warmth and snugness.

If you do decide to use a washing machine a 30 degrees wool wash is recommended. Local soiling maybe sponged. It is not recommended to hoover the Duck Feather Duvets.

Air regularly and shake to restore loft. This ensures that the Duck Feathers and Down are rotated thus keeping them separated leaving gaps for air to breath through the duvet and retain warmth at a comfortable level.
